HideMyAss
is excellent. (Our HideMyAss test won us over). The offer is coherent
and well suited for all possible uses. What’s more, you receive much
more than with low cost VPN services:
HideMyass is best for those who need more technical capabilities : Proxy, router installation, randomly change IP, ... At the amazing price of $9.99/month you will not a find a better or more efficient package. Best value for money Note: * * * * * 5/5 |

1 month $17.49 for the
first 3 months - This is over $50 in savings and, as always, includes a
14-day free trial account.

We would strongly advise a subscription to the Giganews Usenet server that includes a free VPN service VyprVPN (PPTP and L2TP protocols. OpenVPN is also an option at $5 more.)
So for only $17.49 (the first 3 months), you get Usenet access and VPN, two for the price of one !
On its own VyprVPN is more expensive than its competitors ($14.199/month) but included with Giganews Usenet access, it is a very good deal.
The technical quality of this VPN (Giganews is of course upholding its own high standards!) is substantial (the NAT firewall, an extra for the VyprVPN is $5, a rare option with oher VPNs)
The connection app lets you switch easily between countries and protocols.
The strong advantage of the Usenet+VPN package from Giganews
is the use of all the tools that protect data and exchanges, that
counteract ISP limitations, escape geographical restrictions and supply
access to Usenet, the last great free space on the web.

Fast and reliable VPN
IPVanish
made a startling entry into the VPN market and already delivers
industry-best VPN speed (It is very crucial). Supported by on the the
major players in USA networks, IPVanish
already owns a large amount of servers in Europe and the USA. Their
possibility for expansion in the coming months is significant, soon to
become the alternative or even the replacement for HideMyAss, confirmed by one of our IPVanish contacts. They want to repeat the success seen with VPNs on Internet networks. Already most VPN users can trust IPVanish, a service that suits all those that need it for general use.

PrivatVPN
is originally Swedish. A Low Cost VPN offer with an integral
connection program (with the option IP Guard and 7 countries). We like PrivatVPN for its :
If you need a Swedish connection PrivatVPN is perfect. Note: * * * * 4/5 |

For us, OverPlay is the biggest competitor of HMA
in the general category. We can understand, as it includes: 62
countries (in the knowledge that 90% of users concentrate on a just few
servers so the need for diverse and varied countries offered is
perhaps questionable!) integral client, a good price, useful tutorials,
and several rare options like SmartDNS. The slight disadvantage of OverPlay is that it offers an integral client without one of the classic but necessary options like IPGuard, Proxy or a connection speed test. But it has the original Smart Server, a server specially dedicated to streaming sites like Hulu, Netflix, BBC iplayer, Pandora. Only the connection to ONE of these sites uses VPN. The rest of your surfing or activities passes by the IP (a sort of Split Tunnelling.) Note: * * * * 4/5 |

SecurityKiss
is famous for its free VPN - up to 300MB/day. However many users are
missing out on the better option : at only $9.99/month the paying
subscription is much higher quality. Don’t hesitate: try out lots of
functions like Octopus Tunneling – Exclusive Tunneling – dedicated IP –
10 countries – lots of ports (choice of UDP – TCP).
Octopus Tunneling is definitely added value, as good as its support and knowledge base.

American VPN service much like HMA!:
OpenVPN/PPTP/L2TP pack. Lots of addresses, possible switching. We have
had good results with this VPN which has recently launched its own
integral client online. The price is a little higher than HMA! but not exorbitant. Note: * * * 3/5 |

PureVPN has both the attributes of a general subscription and a unique protocol, not used by the other big players (HideMyAss, OverPlay, StrongVPN)
that is SSTP, a function of Split Tunneling, in its integral client,
as well as an Androïd app and the possibility of dedicated IPs. But this dynamic service is counterbalanced by unstable servers and two subscriptions (with the dedicated IP) limited to 30GB/month ( !!) plus a higher than average price for the unlimited option. Note: * * * 3/5 |

$85/year - OpenVPN |
|
StrongVPN is one of the first American VPNs. Its advantages include:
But they need to change their rates for the new market.
We would advise the OpenVPN package at $85/year since it is the best quality/price with StrongVPN.
For a monthly subscription, as long as you don’t switch, the OpenVPN
in Holland installed on the router is good for the price. Your whole
network will be secure.

IbVPN
is one of the pick and choose VPN services. Rates are based on
countries included on on usage. Some packs include specific countries.
Only the all-inclusive package is more expensive. We tested the
TorrentVPN package. It is well designed with 2 countries and a low
price ($4.95). Less expensive but centred on one usage and two
addresses : NL and LU. Seven day logs. The connection client does not
have IPGuard. But you get Highld is you connect to the right port. To
configure IbVPN (IPGuard +port) IbVPN is useful for those who have
speciic needs met by one of its packs – which means it is less
appropriate for general use Note: * * * 3/5 |

AceVPN
is the only provider that proposes a mini-subscription at $5/month (
PPTP // L2TP // OpenVPN pack) with a 50GB/month limit. Accounts are not
renewed automatically. The best offer is the ultimate package at
$15/month with 14 countries.
Ex-pats living abroad who want to
continue watching their own television channels will appreciate AceVPN
for the option « Unblock TV Channels » that allows viewing of several
platforms that works even if the device doesn’t support VPN.
N.B. P2P applications are blocked on American, English and Swiss servers and on the $5 rate.

The problem with Astrill
is the sign-up validation via SMS. If it doesn’t bother you to supply
your telephone number, then you will be satisfied with this VPN. More
than 30 countries., unlimited switching, options for optimising Youtube
streaming, an efficient DD-WRT configuration for your router and an
OpenWeb mode with 4 options to choose from with two dedicated to
avoiding site limitations (Facebook – Twitter). Ex-pats thoroughly
appreciate Astrill.
